Why Mary Thompson Came to Us

When Mary Thompson, author of The Adventures of Coco Mia, came to us, she was on a tight deadline and unsatisfied with the direction of her previous website. Her husband Larry suggested BPI Color based on his experience with us, and we answered! With less than a month to launch, we sat down with Mary to uncover her vision and translate the heart of her book “Adventures of Coco Mia” into a unique digital experience for her young audience.

We worked tirelessly with Mary to ensure we understood her vision and to alleviate her already busy schedule in planning her book launch. Her book launch was successful in drawing attention of local news stations, podcasters, and community attention. We are honored she put her confidence in us to help her at such a vital point in her journey. We found Mary to be beyond inspirational just as many other lives she has touched.

How We Did It

Together, we developed the idea of making the website feel like stepping into the book itself. We integrated graphics, characters, and colors directly from the story, weaving in whimsical elements such as paw print backgrounds, Coco Mia’s real paw print as her “signature,” and playful details like dog bone buttons and image masks. Every design choice was intentional, aiming to capture the book’s joyful, imaginative spirit and connect authentically with its young audience.
